The Juniper Networks ACX4000 Universal Metro Router is a pivotal component of Juniper’s response to the evolving landscape of metro network architecture. This router addresses the shift where operational intelligence extends from the service provider edge to the access network. The ACX Series streamlines access and aggregation architectures by eliminating unnecessary layers and network overlays, resulting in substantial reductions in both capital and operational expenditures.
The ACX4000, with a compact 2.5 U form factor, features two Modular Interface Card (MIC) slots capable of hosting 16 T1/E1 ports, 6 GbE copper/fiber combination ports, or 4 CHOC3/STM-1 ports. The platform also offers various fixed ports, including 2x10GbE, 2xGbE SFP, or 8xGbE copper/fiber combination. Optimized to enhance the mobile subscriber experience, the ACX4000 significantly contributes to network monetization for service providers.
