The Juniper Networks QFX5120-48T Switch is a versatile and high-performance 10GbE/100GbE data center leaf and campus distribution switch, offering exceptional wire-speed packet performance and minimal latency. This switch features 48 dual-speed 1GbE/10GbE RJ-45 copper downlink ports and six dual-speed 100GbE (QSFP28)/40GbE (QSFP+) uplink ports, providing a total throughput of up to 2.16 Tbps (bidirectional) with ultra-low latency as low as 550 nanoseconds. Equipped with a powerful 2.2 GHz quad-core Intel CPU, 16 GB memory, and 100 GB SSD storage, the QFX5120-48T ensures robust performance.
The switch supports breakout cables, allowing each 100GbE QSFP28 port to be divided into four 25GbE SFP28 ports, and each 40GbE QSFP+ port into four 10GbE SFP+ ports, expanding the total number of 25GbE and 10GbE ports to 72. Additionally, the QFX5120 switch models offer advanced Junos OS features, including Ethernet VPN-Virtual Extensible LAN (EVPN-VXLAN), BGP add-path, L3 VPN, MPLS, and robust automation capabilities with support for Python and zero-touch provisioning (ZTP).
