SPARC T5-2 Information

The SPARC T5-2 is an ideal server for small to midsize web-tier workloads and database applications, as well as consolidation and virtualization initiatives. It's Oracle's newest two-socket, three-rack-unit (3U) SPARC server, and it's powered by the SPARC T5 CPU, which offers the best single-thread performance in the SPARC T-Series range. The SPARC T5-2 server includes up to 512 GB DDR3 1066 memory, eight PCIe 3.0 slots, and six 2.5-inch HDD or SSD disk slots. The chassis includes four 10 Gb Ethernet connections.

With 16 cores per processor, the system throughput is 2.3x of the preceding generation.
Application speed and scalability are improved with a 1.2x single-thread performance boost and a doubled L3 cache.
PCIe 3.0 provides 2x the I/O bandwidth, ensuring scale and top application performance.
