Juniper Networks MX960 Universal Routing Platform Information:
The Juniper Networks MX960 5G Universal Routing Platform is a highly efficient Ethernet-optimized edge router that combines switching capabilities with carrier-class Ethernet routing. Designed to support a diverse range of business and residential applications and services, the MX960 facilitates high-speed transport, VPN services, next-generation broadband multiplay services, as well as high-speed Internet and data center internetworking.
Standing at 16 rack units (U) tall, the MX960 router offers redundancy and resiliency through fully redundant hardware components, including power supplies, fan trays, Routing Engines, and Switch Control Boards. Stacking up to three routers in a single floor-to-ceiling rack maximizes port density per unit of floor space.
The router features 14 slots that can accommodate 11 or 12 Dense Port Concentrators (DPCs) or Modular Port Concentrators (MPCs), six Flexible PIC Concentrators (FPCs), and two Switch Control Boards (SCBs) in nonredundant fabric configurations. When fully populated, the MX960 delivers an impressive aggregate switch fabric capacity of up to 10.56 Tbps, offering line-rate throughput on 264 10-Gigabit Ethernet ports, 22 100-Gigabit Ethernet ports, and 44 10-Gigabit Ethernet ports, along with 66 40-Gigabit Ethernet ports.
