The Juniper Networks SSR120 Session Smart Router is a software-driven network appliance, an integral part of the SSR branch portfolio. Equipped with four 1 GbE ports, two 1 GbE RJ-45/SFP combo ports, 8 GB of memory, and a 120 GB enterprise-grade solid-state drive (SSD) for storage, the SSR120 offers robust features for secure and resilient WAN connectivity. Running the FIPS 140-2 Level 1 compliant Session Smart Router (SSR) software, it ensures Zero Trust Security (ZTS) by authenticating routes and encrypting session traffic, allowing only compliant sessions based on authentication policies.
The SSR120 supports Layer 2 through Layer 5 stateful firewall functions, including DoS/DDoS protection, NAT, encryption, VPN, and traffic filtering. Notably, the router automatically detects encrypted traffic using HTTPS or IPSec, avoiding reencryption and minimizing performance overhead. With application and policy-based multipath routing, intelligent path monitoring, and application delivery capabilities, the SSR120 optimizes application traffic across multiple paths, ensuring uninterrupted delivery even in the face of failures.
