Dell PowerVault MD3000 Storage Array Information:
The Dell PowerVault MD3000 storage array is a 3U architecture designed to help Dell PowerEdge servers enhance application performance and storage capacity. Administrators can combine SAS and SATA devices to provide the best storage environment for their data. The PowerVault MD3000 is equipped with 3.5-inch SAS drive technology, which provides up to twice the storage capacity of 2.5-inch drives. The PowerVault MD3000, when equipped with SAS disk drives, can provide the speed, performance, and reliability required by mainstream and demanding server applications such as email and database applications that store active and often changing data. To help achieve these high levels of speed, SAS defines a transfer rate of 3.0 Gbps (300 MB/sec) for each disk on the channel.
