When packed with 32 GB DIMMs, the SPARC T4-2 server has two SPARC T4 CPUs and 32 DIMM slots, which may support 1 TB of memory. The SPARC T4-2 server includes six hard disk drives or solid-state drives and ten PCI Express card ports, allowing for extremely extensible internal storage and network connectivity. It also supports massive Flash storage configurations, which improve I/O intensive application performance, business response times, and productivity while lowering power and space consumption.

Oracle Solaris 10 and 11 are supported, with guaranteed binary compatibility and legacy application support.
