The FAS2200 series is not only cost-effective, but also offers a more powerful platform than comparable systems. SSDs are supported by all FAS systems in the FAS2200 series. With extremely fast flash and Flash Pool technology, the FAS2200 series can get more out of applications and enhance storage efficiency. You can expand Clustered Data ONTAP to more nodes. Upgrade from one NetApp system to another while keeping the same operating system and software tools. The FAS2240 allows you to convert your storage system to an external disk shelf, allowing you to upgrade to larger NetApp systems. In a 2U/24 drive configuration, the NetApp FAS2240-2 may use up to 144 disks and provide up to 518TB of raw storage.
